Meet the Heavy Hands Knockout Girl of the Month, Katelyn Wilson
It did not take long for Heavy Hands Knockout Girl of the Month, Katelyn Wilson, to become a fan of MMA. With a stunning body and outgoing personality, Katelyn decided to work as a ring girl at several MMA fights including fights for King of the Cage and Desert Extreme to “make a quick buck.” She never imaged she would become an avid MMA fan and have the chance to work as a model in the industry.
“I had never seen an MMA fight before I worked as a ring girl so I didn’t know what the sport was all about,” Katelyn said. “I just thought it was a great way to make some good money working at the fights, but I was hooked immediately on the fights.”
Katelyn said what hooked her on MMA was the athleticism of the fighters and the respect they show to their fans and each other. Katelyn has worked as a ring girl at several fights in New Mexico and Colorado.
“I have seen a lot of fights and watched guys beat each other to a bloody pulp, but at the end of the fight they show a lot of class and pride for the sport,” Katelyn said. “And the respect they always show to the fans is awesome. I have seen very few fighters that were disrespectful to the fans.”
Standing at six feet tall, the statuesque and gorgeous Katelyn knows something about competition. She was a standout high school basketball player at Alamogordo High School and played college basketball at Cochise College in Douglas Arizona and Park University in Parkview, Missouri.
After she left college Katelyn decided to pursue a career in modeling. Katelyn was selected as Miss October 2010 in the Las Cruces Calendar Girls calendar and has worked as a model and promotions girl for Miller, Coors and Tecate. Most recently Katelyn participated in the casting call for America’s Next Top Model and is awaiting word to see if she made the cut for the TV show.
“I was a big tom boy growing up always playing football with the boys, but once I grew into my body I decided I would see if I had what it takes to model professionally,” Katelyn said. “If it turns into a career that’s great, but if not I’m having fun no matter what.”
In a few months Katelyn will be moving to the Phoenix area to go back to school and pursue her modeling career. Katelyn will be working as a ring girl at fights in Ruidoso, New Mexico on May 14 and in Cortez, Colorado on May 22.
