Am I the only one who thinks last night’s fight on The Ultimate Fighter was fucking weak?

Am I the only one who thinks last night’s fight on The Ultimate Fighter was fucking weak? What I saw last night was two guys playing it safe and not making any big aggressive moves to win. This is a hardcore competition, not the time or place to play it safe. Missing from the fight last night was the competitive fire that is essential for champions to be aggressive, always move forward and do everything possible to defeat their opponent.

Court McGee thought he did enough to win the fight and was therefore not aggressive. He let Nick Ring, who I thought would be outmatched, steal that one from him. It’s gonna take more than just doing “enough” to win the fight and emerge as the winner of this competition.

Every guy on that show needs to take a look at the competitiveness of a dude like Chuck Liddell. Did you see the fury in his eyes when he was playing a simple game of fucking dodge ball? I guarantee you that intensity had less to do with the $10,000 and more to do with beating Tito Ortiz. Liddell is a master at this sport not just because of his natural physical ability, but because he wants to win at every single thing he does. When a guy like that does not win it drives him crazy. Liddell was even ready to fuck up Dana White because he was so pissed about his guy losing. That’s competitiveness… the urge to beat down your boss when things don’t go your way.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all of these guys to learn from some of the best MMA fighters in the world. I’m including Ortiz on that list as one of the greats even though I really can’t fucking stand him. But what redeems him is that he has the same competitive streak as Liddell the other great MMA fighters out there.

I love this show, but next time, I want to see some more broken doors and blood. Most importantly, these dudes need to turn up the competitiveness. Maybe they should YouTube the Leonard Garcia and Chan Sung Jung fight to see what it looks like when a fighter will do anything to win. But if all else fails, they should all remember to dodge, duck, dip, dive and…dodge.
