This is the second in my series of the best and worst strip clubs in America. You can read my review of TD’s North in Albuquerque by clicking HERE.

This past weekend me and a friend (who will remain nameless because she will punch me in the face for outing her for going with me) took a little trip to El Paso for some ole’ fashioned good times at the strip club. Our first stop was at Tequila Sunrise. We figured this would be a good starter club before we made our way to Jaguar’s, which is considered by most as the premier strip club in town. Spend five minutes in Tequila Sunrise and you will quickly learn it is not the ugly stepchild of Jaguars.

Club layout and lighting:

The layout of the stages is very Vegas styled. There is a main stage with two smaller stages in a Y shape to both side of the club. The design is awesome, but I prefer a stage that is a bit closer to the ground. When I go to the stage for a dance, I like a stage that offers an opportunity for maximum grindablilty. The lighting on the stage is perfect and there are plenty of dark corners for lap dances.

Hotness and attitude of dancers:

Tequila Sunrise offers a wide range of dancers in terms of hotness and age. It is a perfect combination in my opinion. I got my first lap dance from Crystal. She was older than the typical 21 year old stripper and she was not made of plastic. She had a great attitude and played in the fantasy role well. She has a great way of making you feel like she’s actually into you. On a side note, I have a pretty good strategy about how to get the best lap dance. We all know that in any club there is going to be those few girls who are too hot for words. They’re perfect in every way. There will also be those who have no business dancing. Come on, I don’t want to see your surgery scar or hear about how you just because a grandma for the second time (true story). The best dances are going to come from girls who are in that meaty part of the stripper bell curve. That’s where Crystal falls. If you go, make sure you get at least one dance from her.

Price of overpriced drinks and dances:

The drinks are not more expensive than a regular bar and the lap dances are only $10. You can’t find a better deal than that anywhere in El Paso. Other clubs do offer cheap drinks and low cost dances, but they are full of dancers on the bad side of the bell curve and you will need a tetanus shot before you go in. Tequila Sunrise is by far the best priced club in El Paso.

Privateness of the VIP room:

This was the only really disappointing part of the club. The VIP areas are located on each side of the club. The area does provide some privacy with a half wall around it, but because of the location, it really feels like you are on display for the whole club to see. The whole point of the VIP room is privateness, and Tequila Sunrise misses the mark here.

The “X” factor:

While the VIP area is not the best, the X factor of Tequila Sunrise is the red couches that line the back wall of the club. There are at least nine and they sit in a very poorly lit area of the club. The couches are deep, comfortable and just the right size for an intimate encounter. I was lucky enough to get a few solo dances and a few joint dances with the girl I went with in these phenomenal couches. I’ve been to a lot of clubs over the last 20 years, but that experience is easily in the top five best strip club moments ever.

We eventually made it over to Jaguar’s that night and I will post a review of that club the next time around. My advice is if you are ever in El Paso and are looking for a great night, Tequila Sunrise can’t be ignored.
